All orders are charged immediately, including pre-orders.

A seam split is unfortunately a common issue when shipping records through the postal system. It occurs when the record is jostled around in the packaging, causing the vinyl to move and “split” through the jacket itself. While it doesn’t happen all the time, it is sadly an inherent risk with mail order records. The only way to completely avoid this from happening is to remove the record prior to packing and to have it ship outside the sleeve. If you would like us to do this, please select the “White Glove Shipping Service” add-on when placing your product in the shopping cart. For more information on this service, please see the FAQ below.

Please note that we do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds for seam split damage.

While all our items are always packed carefully some things are generally unavoidable when shipping records in the mail, particularly when it comes to the record jacket: corner dings, slight creases, and of course the dreaded SEAM SPLIT. Sometimes your records need a little extra TLC!  

For a little extra protection, select the White Glove Shipping service add-on. The Ship to Shore PhonoCo. team will hand-pick everything to ensure that those nasty shipping gremlins (or ghoulies if you prefer) are avoided as much as humanly possible. Think of it as an extra layer of insurance to ensure your order arrives in as perfect condition as can be. 

To avoid seam split damage, we carefully remove the vinyl from its jacket and original inner sleeve, and place it in a brand new blank poly-lined inner sleeve for protection. It is then shipped outside of its original jacket and inner sleeve in the same package. Everything is preserved!

We ship USPS (Media Mail in the US, First Class International for the rest of the world). UPS services are also available.

We also offer FREE Media Mail shipping on Domestic Orders over $100. Please note that this does not apply to orders that weigh over 70 lbs.

Our shipping prices are calculated at actual cost, plus packaging & handling.

There could be a small number of reasons why your order is not applicable for free shipping despite the contents of your basket coming to $100 or more:

Is the delivery address in the U.S.? Only domestic orders can qualify for the free shipping offer.

Maybe you've applied a discount code to the order and now the adjusted value is under $100 because you took $25 off with your STS Doubloon reward points or you used a promotional 10% off code. The total of your basket (not including shipping) must come to $100 or moreafterany discounts.

The main one to look out for though is to check whether any of the items in your basket are not media items. The shipping service we use for the free shipping offer is USPS Media Mail. Only media items can be sent Media Mail -- items such as vinyl, CDs, audio cassette tapes, VHS tapes and so forth. Items like coasters, cups, the Chili Buddy etc are not considered media and therefore will disqualify an order from free shipping.

We do! We actually ship to most countries around the world. Please note however that you will be responsible for any customs / import charges incurred by your package. In addition: no, we will not lower the package value so you don’t have to pay customs — that would be naughty.

Unfortunately our warehouse move to a new fulfilment centre means that we can no longer combine or split orders..

In-stock items are generally shipped within 24 hours (1 working day) of the order being placed. This time period may be extended during busy periods.

Pre-order titles will be shipped once the stock arrives — please refer to the specific product page for up-to-date information on shipping dates. 

Please note that orders containing multiple items are shipped together. Should your order contain a mix of both in-stock and pre-order items, your order will only ship once ALL items are in stock.

After you have placed your order, you will automatically receive an order confirmation from us. If you do not receive a notification, contact us.

All sales are final. In very exceptional circumstances we may be able to assist you in cancelling an order if you contact us within 24 hours of the order being placed, however please note that if the order has already been sent to our fulfilment centre or has entered the shipping process we will not be able to cancel the shipment.

Mild warping is actually a fairly common trait with vinyl records in recent years. While it is not exactly aesthetically pleasing, warped records rarely affect the turntable’s ability to play the record without audio errors. If the record still sounds good despite the wax wobble, then no replacement is necessary. However, if while playing the record the audio sounds wrong (like it’s dizzy from being slapped hard around the head with a shovel or medium-sized saucepan), then please refer to our replacement policy and get in touch with us.

Seam splits and minor dings / creases are unfortunately an inherent risk of sending records in the mail (see our White Glove Shipping Service FAQ for help minimising this risk) but if your item arrives with a heavily damaged cover please contact us by emailing mark@shiptoshoremedia.com with your order number and photos of the damage within 72 hours of receipt and we’ll see how we can help. 

We can only accept replacement / return requests for products that are incorrect, arrive damaged or are defective (including record skips, sticks and pops — for seam splits see our FAQ above). 

Please email mark@shiptoshoremedia.com within 72 hours of receipt with your order number and details of the reason for your replacement request, along with pictures of damage if applicable. If the damage / defect is not visible and only affects the audio portion of the product (or visuals for VHS products), please provide a video of the item being played where the item’s quality is altered. Please be aware that sometimes incorrect playback can be caused by YOUR setup (for example, if you're using a cheap "suitcase style" turntable such as a Crosley or Ion). In some very special circumstances we may ask you to send the item back to us.

Please note that we can only send replacements for the same title that was ordered.

Clothing items are non-returnable.

If, for ANY reason, your parcel is returned to us (due to an incorrect shipping address, or you failed to collect it from the Post Office etc), then of course we will be happy to resend it. However, please be aware that you will have to cover the costs of re-shipping it.
