Vinyl-a-Day 43: The Outsiders - “CQ” (Polydor, 1968 [Jackpot Re-Issue]
I posted about the US Outsiders earlier this week, but this the Outsiders from the Netherlands. Probably the most popular example of the “Nederbeat Sound” which emerged in the wake of popular British hard rock groups like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Who. In fact, they opened for The Rolling Stones in 1966. Though their popularity was largely relegated to their home country at the time, they, and this album in particular, have found renewed popularity with psych/garage rock enthusiasts.
