"It's coming," they say. "A second wave." I believe them. Some people have been acting like there's nothing wrong, blissfully unaware - or perhaps deliberately ignoring - the death tolls reported in the news. "It's just the flu" some people exclaim. Except it's not. But anyway, summer is here and are you really going to close the beaches on the fourth of July because someone yelled "shark?" In the UK - currently experiencing a heatwave - thousands of people flocked to the beach regardless, leaving trash in their wake, shitting in burger cartons (yes, really) because the public toilets were closed and no doubt helping spread the Covid-19 virus further. Oh that second wave is coming alright.

Prick.

Music has helped me through a lot of this clamorous turmoil. It can take my mind off of the impending apocalypse or it can help me wallow in it further, depending on my mood and what I'm listening to at the time. Using the events of the last few months as an inspiration, I have put together another digital mixtape for you to stuff in your ears and help you block out all that unwanted noise. From the initial Baked Bean shortage when the news broke and people started hoarding to the glut of (mostly dumb) conspiracy theories being spread on social media, from songs about isolation and mental illness to music about mankind's possible redemption, and with a delicious swirl of black humour included, it's all here. Well, not all here. This is only Volume 2 after all...

Containing a veritable smorgasbord of musical genres - from electronica to pop to Citypop to punk to metal to ambient and then back again - the mixtape is available to listen to on Mixcloud for free right here or you can listen to it using the handy widgets on this very page you're currently rubbing your eyeballs on.

As I did in Volume 1, I won't describe the reasons for each song's inclusion - hopefully the music will do all the talking in that regard - but as before I urge you to look at the tracklist only after listening to the mix, as you may find it more rewarding (and surprising)...
